Frequently Asked Questions

Project raven

do we have to meet in person?

No! We are more than happy to speak via phone or video call.

What happens to my story once i’ve shared it with you?

Project Raven aims to publish a book that features stories of trauma survivors from all walks of life, in hopes of inspiring other survivors to step forward and seek help. To often, we feel isolated in our experiences, our emotions, and our healing. Our goal is to put proof out into the world that trauma is trauma, it doesn’t matter if you were sent to war or sitting in your living room when it happened. The impact is far reaching, but so is the hope that it will get better!

Will i lose ownership of my story?

No! While we do require signed consent to secure our right to use the content of your story and publish the novel we write, you retain the rights to your story! Your narrative is uniquely yours, woven with your experiences and emotions. This process is all about you stepping into your power and sharing your truth with the world. We value your voice, and our goal is to amplify it, ensuring that you remain at the forefront of your journey. Rest assured, we are here to celebrate that journey and honor the rights you hold to your story every step of the way!

What personal information do i need to share?

You are in control! To connect with us, all we need is a way to reach you, an email or phone number, and your preferred name for communication. We respect the significance of sharing personal details, especially for those healing from trauma. Your identity will remain safe with us – we're here to support you, not to expose you to the world!

What does it cost?

There's no charge for your story to become part of Project Raven! Our main focus is to help amplify your story for all to hear.

Who will I be speaking to?

A fellow survivor who truly understands the courage it takes to speak up about your journey! Just a reminder, we are not certified therapists. Sharing your stories can be a powerful part of your healing journey, but it is important to note that storytelling alone is not a replacement for therapy. It is important that you feel grounded in your truth and have processed your trauma sufficiently in a safe, therapeutic environment. Remember, delving into your past can bring up intense emotions and there is a significant risk of re-traumatization! We strongly recommend discussing this with your therapist or healthcare provider before diving into your experiences with us! Please reach out with any specific questions you have! Your healing and wellbeing should always be your first priority.

Who will benefit from the funds raised from project raven?

A percentage of all proceeds will be donated to PTSD Service Dog training. To celebrate our first year creating change, we will donate to: Wounded Warriors PTSD Dog Training.

The remaining proceeds will return directly back to Project Raven. As we build partnerships and connections within the community, we will be looking at ways of offering supports through Project Raven for trauma survivors.
